The path was improved into a road in the years after the war. Nothing is known of the man in this grave.  He could of died of any number of unfortunate reasons on the trip to New Orleans or on the trip back.

Geocaching Trip - December 31, 2011

I got to get away from the house to geocache early Saturday morning. It has been a while that i could sting two days together. I traveled to Rome again and ventured up around the Rocky Mountain Public Fishing Adrea on Big Texas Valley Road. I found seven caches and visited the cemetery at Sand Springs Baptist Church on Sand Springs Road.
